How to use the image converter

  1. Add imagesDrop one or many images onto the box, or tap to choose them. HEIC photos from iPhone are supported.
  2. Choose the outputPick JPG, PNG or WebP. For JPG and WebP, use the quality slider to trade a little detail for a much smaller file.
  3. Optionally resizeSet a maximum width to shrink large photos - a big saving for websites and email.
  4. DownloadSave each file, or download them all together as a ZIP.

Which format should I use?

  • WebP - best for websites. Usually 25-35% smaller than JPG at the same quality, and it supports transparency.
  • JPG - best for sharing photos anywhere. Every device and app can open it.
  • PNG - best for screenshots, logos and anything with text or transparency. Lossless, but larger.
  • HEIC - what iPhones save by default. Great quality, but many websites and Windows apps cannot open it, so convert it to JPG to share.

Faster pages start with smaller images

Images are usually the heaviest part of a web page, and page speed affects both visitors and Google rankings. Converting photos to WebP at 75-85% quality and capping the width at around 1600 pixels often cuts image weight by 70% or more with no visible difference. If your whole site feels slow, our SEO and web team can take a look.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?
No. Conversion and compression run in your browser using your device's own image engine, so your photos never touch our server.
How many images can I convert at once?
There is no fixed limit. Dozens of photos work fine on a computer; on a phone, batches of 10-20 large photos are most comfortable.
Does compressing reduce quality?
JPG and WebP compression removes detail your eye is unlikely to notice. At 80% quality most photos look identical to the original at a fraction of the size. PNG is lossless, so its quality never changes.
Can I convert HEIC on Windows or Android?
Yes. The tool includes a HEIC decoder that runs in the browser, so HEIC photos convert on any device - not just Apple ones.
Is transparency kept?
Transparency is kept when the output is PNG or WebP. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white.
