Private PDF editing

Contracts, bank statements and medical letters should not be uploaded to a stranger's server just to join two files. These PDF tools run entirely in your browser using open-source code, so your documents stay on your device from start to finish.

About compression

The compressor rebuilds the PDF more efficiently and removes unused data and metadata. That works well for PDFs exported from Word or design apps. Scanned documents are mostly large images, and shrinking those heavily needs server-side processing, so expect modest savings on scans. The tool always tells you the before and after size, and never makes your file bigger.

Frequently asked questions

Are my PDFs uploaded?
No. All merging, splitting and compression happens in your browser. Your files never reach our server.
Can I merge PDFs in a specific order?
Yes. Drag the files into the order you want, or use the arrow buttons, before merging.
Can I split a PDF into single pages?
Yes. Choose Split, then "Every page as a separate PDF", and download all the pages as a ZIP.
Do password-protected PDFs work?
PDFs that need a password to open cannot be processed. Remove the password in your PDF reader first, then try again.
Why did compression only save a little?
Scanned PDFs are mostly images that are already compressed. The light compression here targets document structure, so savings are biggest on PDFs exported from other apps.
