Scite is an AI-powered research platform that revolutionises how researchers, scientists, and academics evaluate scientific literature. Unlike traditional citation tools that simply count how many times a paper has been cited, Scite analyses the context of each citation — classifying whether the citing paper supports, contradicts, or merely mentions the cited work. This citation context transforms how researchers assess the strength of scientific evidence.

Smart Citations

Scite's core technology is Smart Citations — AI analysis of the text surrounding every citation across over 1.2 billion citation statements. For any paper, Scite shows not just citation counts but the citation breakdown: how many papers replicated its findings (supporting), how many found contradictory results (contrasting), and how many just mentioned it. A paper with 100 citations but 40 contrasting citations tells a very different story than the raw count suggests.

Assistant — AI Research Chat

Scite's Assistant is an AI research chatbot that answers scientific questions with cited evidence from the research literature.
